Release overview
Rare Character Limited Release range “RCLR” is the most ambitious launch from Rare Character to date. Each batch is built from a marriage of some of the finest barrels encountered through the rickhouses of America, combining complementary flavour profiles for greater complexity, depth and balance than any one barrel could achieve on its own. On average, these whiskies are a marriage of 8–15-year-old whiskey.

This is the second RCLR release for 2026. Rare Character plans to release three to four batches per year, with Australia expected to receive two to three batches annually. Each batch will be different. Each labels artwork is specifically designed by Pablo Moix, wife, each batch has a different piece of artwork.

RCLR Straight Rye Whiskey 2026 Batch 2 balances the lift and drive expected
from rye with the deeper, broader texture that comes from expertly marrying multiple standout barrels. The result is layered and distinctive, combining savoury, sweet and oaky elements in a rye that should speak strongly to adventurous whiskey drinkers.

60.2% ABV

Tasting note:

Nose of leather, oak and sweet tobacco.

The palate brings dried fruit sweetness, bread, fresh green herbs and a dusting of brown sugar.

Oak and vanilla carry the finish, alongside notes of honey toast and macadamia cookie crumble.
