Montecalvi Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 (750ml)

Montecalvi is an estate of ancient origin, situated just above the town of Greve in Chianti in central Tuscany. Wine has been made at Montecalvi since the 1400s.

This wine hails from our Montecalvi vineyard, made up of 95% Sangiovese complemented by 5% Canaiolo and (the increasingly rare) Canina Nera. The grapes are grown 250 meters asl on sandstone soils on clay, which give the wine its character and structure. Vinified with 25% whole bunches and macerated for at least 90 days, followed by 18-month aging in third use French oak tonneaux, which gives additional complexity and depth to the wine. We make (give or take) 10,000 bottles a year
